NINJATYPE / Star guide

Every bit of progress counts.

Understand how speed and accuracy turn into stars in your finger practice lessons.

Speed earns stars. Accuracy keeps them.

Finger lessons award one base star for every 2 WPM, rounded down. Your accuracy determines how many stars are deducted. Your final total never drops below zero.

floor(WPM ÷ 2) − accuracy penalty
20 WPM / 98% ACCURACY

10 stars · Green tier 10 base stars, with no accuracy penalty. All

five green stars are filled.

24 WPM / 88% ACCURACY

11 stars · Yellow tier 12 base stars minus one for accuracy. One

yellow star is filled in the new tier.

Accuracy matters

At 96% accuracy or higher, you keep all your base stars. Below 40%, you earn no stars for that session.

Build accuracy before speed

Start at a comfortable pace, practice one finger at a time, and keep your eyes on the screen. Short, regular sessions help finger placement become second nature. Speed can follow once the motion feels familiar.
