TypingClub has a broad course experience, with lessons, games, videos and school editions. If you want that wider curriculum or a managed school setup, those are meaningful features to consider.
NinjaType gives you a smaller practice map: four finger groups, three levels each, then tests and races where you can apply the movements. You choose the finger group; the app shows your local progress.
After a lesson, try a comfortable solo test. Notice whether you look down less often and whether accuracy holds. One lesson does not promise a particular WPM gain.

A few things to know.
How does NinjaType compare with TypingClub?
TypingClub offers a broad touch-typing course with interactive lessons and school options. NinjaType offers a smaller set of QWERTY finger-group lessons alongside tests and races, useful for focused independent practice.
How are NinjaType’s lessons organized?
There are four finger pairs: index, middle, ring and pinky. Each has three levels that begin with home anchors and add reaches. The lesson screen shows the keys and the requirements to unlock the next level.
Can I start without knowing touch typing?
Yes. Start at the home anchors, use the keyboard guide, and practise accuracy before speed. A physical QWERTY keyboard is the best match for these finger-placement exercises.
Will my TypingClub progress transfer?
No. The two services are independent. NinjaType keeps its own lesson progress in your browser and does not import TypingClub stars, accounts or assignments.
